I want to extend a warm welcome to Martin High School. Martin has a long tradition and an exciting future! We are proud of the small environment we have at Martin High School. It is the type of environment has all of the ingredients to ensure that each and every one of our students will have a successful experience while attending at Martin High School.

We are excited about the new modified block schedule we will be implementing in the beginning of the 2011 school year. A five period modified block schedule will allow our students to fast track through the required Michigan Merit Curriculum and advance into their post high school plans of either a career and technical education or a post-secondary education.

“Prescription Education” is the new approach to how we prepare our students to have the best possible educational experience. Each child will have their own "prescription" based on what their strengths and weaknesses are as a learner. This will ensure that each child’s unique learning styles will be accommodated to promote a sense of confidence within the student that they are provided the best educational opportunities. This will, as a result, create a sense of individual care and attention to each student’s needs as they prepare for an ever changing and challenging global economy.

We are also very excited about piloting a positive behavior program called “PRIDE”. Each Martin student will be Prepared, Respectful, have Integrity, Dependable, and Envision the future. This program will promote a sense of school pride and also create a safe learning environment. It has been proven through research that students who feel positive about their surroundings and feel safe are more likely to be successful with their academic learning.

At Martin High School we as a staff are very driven to provide an overall enriching experience for each and every student who is a part of the Martin Clipper family. I encourage and welcome you to come and experience what we have to offer your child and their education.
